In Japan, a field where a lot of sunflowers are filled is having more popularity as a tourist destination.

(1) Hokuto-city Akeno Sunflower festival (北斗市明野サンフラワーフェス) in Yamanashi prefecture

Against the blue sky and beautiful mountains, 60 thousands of sunflowers beautifully.

When you visit there by car, it’s convenient to head to Haiji-no-mura Kurara-kan(ハイジの村クララ館). For those who go there by train, get off a train at Nirasaki station(韮崎駅) on JR Chuo line, and get on a bus which is bound for Haiji-no-mura Kurara-kan.

(2) Hokuryu-town Himawari-no-sato(北竜町ひまわりの里)in Hokkaido

I’m sure you get surprised at 1.5 millions of sunflowers under the sun against the blue sky!

Of course, it’s the largest sunflower field in Japan.

I strongly recommend that you rent a car to go there, or take an expressway bus at Sapporo station, the largest station in Hokkaido.

(3) Showa-kinen-kouen (昭和記念公園) in Tokyo

If you stay in Tokyo, here Showa-kinen-koen is the easiest place to go for sunflowers.

You’ll see 40 thousands of sunflowers in the park!

Get on JR line at Tokyo or Shinjuku station, and get off at Tachikawa station. It takes about 10 minutes to get there on foot from Tachikawa station.

(4) Nagasaki-bana (長崎鼻)in Ohita prefecture

It has the largest number of sunflowers in Kyushu area, and you can enjoy 1.2 millions of sunflowers at most.

(5) Ohiwa Flower Garden(大岩フラワーガーデン)in Gunma prefecture

Surprisingly, you can see sunflowers there in September and the first half of October!

This is because the garden has several fields of sunflowers, and the time of bloom is different in each field.
