The birthplace of Kamigata Manzai

Manzai is one of Japanese comedy and Kamigata means Kyoto-Osaka area. Because before, the capital was in Kyoto, therefore in Japan, many culture has coming from there. Particularly in Osaka, people has loving comedy it has called “Manzai”

Now, we can see such type of comedy in Tokyo too, but most of them use Kansai dialect including Osaka dialect.

Unostentatious character

Therefore, ordinary citizen in Osaka also know what is comedy and humor. They understand it well so if you say some stupid things in front of them, they will counterstrike with word “Nandeyanen!” (means “why you say that!)

Sometime Japanese television interview to people in Osaka and ask them what is difference from Tokyo, they answer “We are different from them, and comedian from Osaka are more interesting than one of Tokyo”

Like these, people in Osaka has spirit if rivalry to Tokyo.
