Hi.
Do you like ramen, one of the most popular national foods in Japan?

Even though you love it, I think you haven’t tasted a bowl of ramen which soup is made from balloon fish!

Can you imagine what the taste is like?

Let’s try it at “Hachidaime Keisuke (八代目けいすけ)” in “Tokyu Plaza Ginza (東急プラザ銀座),” which has recently been open at the centre of Tokyo!

The ramen shop is located in the second basement of Tokyu Plaza Ginza.

When you see the menu, you may feel foods are more expensive than you imagine.

Even the least expensive bowl of ramen costs 1,000yen.

Later, I think you will feel the cost deserves the taste.

If you fully want to enjoy the tasty ramen, it’s a nice choice to pay +400yen and order one with ochazuke (お茶漬け).

When I went there, I ordered Fugudashi-shio ramen Kiwami (ふぐだし潮らーめん極み) with ochazuke, which totally cost 1,950yen.

It’s what I ordered.
Wow!

Can you see the clearness and transparency of the soup? It’s very surprising, and looks elegant.

Soon I realized the particular smell of balloon fish soup.

When I ate it, soon I felt its taste.

Noodles were thin, which really went well with the deep taste of the soup.

A char siu was pretty nice and gorgeous, because it was black Iberian pig!

When the fat of the char siu started melting in the soup, whole ramen tasted much better!

I thought I should not compare this ramen with other ones. It’s too different to compare.

Salty-simmered bamboo shoots, menma (メンマ )in Japanese, were also delicious, with an elegant taste.

Move on to ochazuke!

Well, it’s worth trying.

When we usually eat ochazuke, we pour hot soup made from some kinds of fishes.

But the ramen soup is used to prepare ochazuke in this ramen shop!

I was so surprised.

I enjoyed eating the ramen with this balloon-fish soup, and it’s absolutely ramen soup.

However, the soup perfectly changed its role, from ramen soup to balloon-fish soup for ochazuke.

How was it?

Though someone think it’s too expensive to pay more than 1,000yen to eat a bowl of ramen.

However, I’m sure the cost deserves the taste, and it’s worth trying.

And the ramen shop has an easy access from most of sightseeing spots in the centre of Tokyo.

Why not try!

I hope you enjoy it!
