Hi.

Do you wanna feel the taste of Edo period(江戸時代)?

Kawagoe(川越), which prospered as the town of merchants and craftspeople, and is now called aslittle Edo(小江戸)”, is a good place to visit, because of its historical streetscape.

It only takes about one hour to get there from the centre of Tokyo by train, thus the city has more popularity among tourists.

Today I introduce some tourist destinations in the city!

This is a place where Kawagoe’s traditional crafts gather, and you can feel and experience them.

It must be interesting for you to have a look at a soy sauce factory and a sake brewery.

It’s also very fun to experience glasswork in a glass atelier.

* Matsumoto Soy Sause Store (松本醤油商店)

%e5%b0%8f%e6%b1%9f%e6%88%b8%ef%bc%94 %e5%b0%8f%e6%b1%9f%e6%88%b8%ef%bc%95

The store is located in Kamonrakuza(醸ん楽座).

It was established in 1830, and still keeps a traditional way to produce soy sauce, which needs more time and effort than bottles of soy sauce you can buy at a supermarket.

The shop provides a warehouse tour every day (FOC/prior booking essential). You’ll see how wholeheartedly people there make it.

The atelier is open every day except Wednesday, and it takes about 30 minutes to make them. Delivery of your glasswork is after the next day you visit there (you can receive it by parcel delivery service).

Mold your memory into glasswork!
