First program of this festival was Yoga trial session.
There were about 50 participants and most of them were beginners.
Need to be pair with more than two people from warming up.

Sitting down with pair, pushing back to back, and standing up together.
Jumping with pair and clap hands together, etc…
Noticing that importance of matching timing with others by doing those warming up process. It is very important to communicate in order to understand each other.
By doing warming up, feeling gets loose more than body.
Facial expression of participants became more relaxed.

Base, Flyer, and Spotter, those are the basic three positions for Acro Yoga.
Base is a person who goes under and lay down. Flyer is a person who goes on top of the base. Spotter is a person who supports those two.

Began from airplane posture, and changed to several basic postures with different members.
Base and flyer could feel a sense of unity when both could keep balance. People who haven’t even know each other until this moment could communicate each other and feeling the same moment. How amazing it is!

Yoga trial session finished with this unique posture. This is standard posture for Acro Yoga. Everyone support someone. Everyone is supported someone. This is like “IT’S A SMALL WORLD”.

After the trial session for beginners, there began the lesson for upper class people and information session for people who want to be Acro Yoga instructors.

3 Show Case
The closing of this festival was of course, Acro Yoga performance!

The performance included comical movement and fantastic worldview. Sometimes it includes dance kind of performance. Performance of a representative of Acro Yoga Japan, Mrs. Risa was especially amazing!

4 After experienced Acro Yoga
Through this Acro Yoga festival 2016, I could learn the importance of feeling a sense of unity with others. Sense of shearing something might be a beginning of knowing Acro Yoga. All process of Acro Yoga leads to core training, so it is definitely good exercise for our body. Since there are a lot of stretching postures, it is good to make strong and lithe body.
