How to Preserve “Onions” for Long Term?
Where do you keep onions after you purchase them? If your answer is in a refrigerator, that is a wrong answer.
It is usually high humidity inside of refrigerators in order to keep vegetables fresh. Onions grow sprouts and roots really quick under the humid atmosphere and those make tastes of onions worse.
So, put the onions in a refrigerator when you cut and want to keep them. It is better to keep onions in a well-ventilated area.
Wrap onions with newspapers in a rainy season would be great prevention of humidity.
How to Preserve “Carrots” for Long Term?
Carrots are very weak under humid conditions. Therefore, please don’t put them into a plastic bag. Take off all the moistures around carrots with kitchen paper and then, wrap with newspapers. Please keep them in a refrigerator during summer. During winter season, it is fine to keep them in a cool dark place.
Those carrots last more than a week to 10 days just you do above process.
If you want to keep carrots in a freezer, cut and boil them before you put them in a freezer. That way you could preserve them longer and it is easy to use as well.
